Redeemer Presbyterian Church - New York
Redeemer Presbyterian Church pastors, in New York City, U.S.A., discriminate against and prohibit single Christians (or prohibit only Torsten), who desire to develop Christian relationships which could evolve into Christian marriages, from attending their Redeemer Fellowship Groups. The Redeemer Presbyterian Church pastors cowardly evade explanation to their anti-relationship, anti-marriage and anti-Christian attitudes in regards to this matter. Redeemer Presbyterian Church pastors are too proud to repent from this sinful exclusion of Torsten from joining their Fellowship Groups.

Subject: Anti-Biblical Redeemer practices.
Redeemer Presbyterian “church”.
None of your Redeemer staff has yet replied to my inquiry. All staffs at your “church” refuse to communicate, in spite that all staffs at your “church” have had more than one week to respond. My question to you is very simple to answer.
I ask your “church” these two simple questions one last time:
1) Am I allowed to participate in Redeemer's Fellowship Groups?
2) Where specifically do Christian singles meet and develop friendships with other Christian singles in New York City?
If Redeemer refuses to answer, then you are indirectly confirming that your Redeemer Presbyterian “church” is deliberately prohibiting me from attending your public list of Fellowship Groups, but that you are too cowardly to explicitly say so. And by the Redeemer defensive statement that Redeemer Fellowship Groups are not designed for developing relationships, but instead only for “basic Christian community”, you prove that you miss the point entirely of what a Christian community is. “Church”-communities can be anything, but a Christian community is based on Biblical values and principles. A Christian community that does not aim to develop relationships is contradictory to Biblical values, principles and commandments. Therefore, only two explanations are conceivable: (a) either your idea of a “Christian community” is anti-Biblical, or (b) you are deliberately discriminating against single Christians that desire a Christian marriage.
Redeemer Presbyterian “church” -- whichever option is more applicable, you need to repent from your anti-Christian attitudes and anti-Biblical practices!

Subject: Denied particiaption in Fellowship Groups?
Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Hi.
Redeemer Presbyterian Church, none of your staff has replied to my inquiry.
Firstly, it is cowardly of your church to not answer if, or rather explain why, I am not allowed to participate in fellowship groups within your church.
Secondly, it is cowardly of your church office to filter away correspondence from me as your means of avoiding communication with me. When I emailed my letter to your church staff on Aug.5 I observed that I did not receive the previous automated out-of-office replies, whereby I induced that your church had decided to screen against my original email address (nenzen@nenzen.org). Therefore, I resent my letter to your church from a different email address (info@glocalnet.de), which did generate the expected automated out-of-office replies. My thought was confirmed to be true. Thus, your shameful evasion of communication with me is both cowardly and unchristian.
Redeemer Presbyterian Church, you have now had four full days to respond to my two very simple questions, and yet you have not answered, and from your church conduct at attempting to filter away my email to you, I suspect that Redeemer Presbyterian Church has chosen a policy to remain malevolent, evasive and non-communicative towards me. Please disprove this suspicion.
Redeemer Presbyterian Church, I ask you again:
1) Am I allowed to participate in Redeemer's Fellowship Groups?
2) Where specifically do Christian singles meet and develop friendships with other Christian singles in New York City?
Please answer these two questions. Thank-you.

Torsten Nenzen

Subject: Am I allowed to participate in Fellowship Groups?
Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Hi Bruce Terrell.
Thanks for your response.
There is good reason to publicly address attempts by church pastors to camouflage pastoral ignorance or evils. Without confronting and exposing evils from church pastors, so called pastors will continue in their ignorant and evil ways. The true body of Christ, which is an intersecting domain with the organised/institutionalised churches, benefits from repentance but is devastated by continued leadership sins; untruth, denial, evasion, pride, arrogance, mercilessness. Truth, benevolence and love must be higher priorities among church leaders than collegial or church loyalties. It is for this motive that I reply to you, Bruce Terrell, also in a public manner. I will not tolerate distortion of truth by you, and I will not accept evasion of two very simple questions that should be easy for you to answer publicly – provided that you are consistent, truthful and benevolent.
Therefore, I ask you publicly, Bruce Terrell:
1) Am I allowed to participate in Redeemer's Fellowship Groups?
2) Where specifically do Christian singles meet and develop friendships with other Christian singles in New York City?
Your statement that other churches have “attempted to be helpful to you” offensively misrepresents the reality. That statement is a blatant denial of truth. Certainly there are positive and good aspects of most churches, but in regards to the specific introductory question that I have addressed to other churches, there is no church that has responded thoughtfully pragmatic, supportively or helpfully. Neither did Redeemer’s Rev. Matthew Bucheri. In fact, Rev. Matthew Bucheri’s response is typical for most church leaders’ discrepancy between pulpit words and personal words, confirming an inability to connect faith and deeds; hypocrisy.
The internet postings that I think that you may be referring to is: http://www.kyrkor.be/Inhumane_Swedish_Pastors.pdf. Is there anything untruthful in that internet posting?
Please answer my above two questions to Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Thank-you.

Dear Torsten,
I kindly request you cease sending emails to the entire Redeemer Presbyterian Church staff list. This is now the second time in two days you’ve decided to do so. Rev. Matthew Buccheri communicated to you that he was willing to interact with you in person about the matters you stated in your earlier email interaction with him, but instead, you decided to respond acrimoniously in a public manner in your two follow-up emails to the entire staff.
We are aware that you have experienced similar difficulties (which you have published on the Internet) with several other churches both in the U.S. and Canada. It seems those churches, likewise, have attempted to be helpful to you only to end up being vilified through your subsequent Internet postings. We would like to attempt to be helpful as well, but sending repeated emails to our entire staff is not helpful. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bruce

Subject: Am I allowed to particiapte in Fellowship Groups?
Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Hi.
I am a Christian man in New York who wants to marry a Christian woman. I have visited Redeemer church on Sundays for several weeks. I would like to participate in Redeemer Fellowship Groups. During the refreshments after the Sunday services at the Redeemer locations, everyone that I have spoken with has advised that I should join a Fellowship Group.
But, according to Redeemer's so called pastor, Matthew Buccheri, I am not allowed to participate in your Redeemer Presbyterian Church Fellowship Groups if I want to marry a Christian woman. Also, according to Matthew Buccheri of Redeemer, there are many other places for single Christians to meet each other in NYC, but according to Matthew Buccheri's follow-up response, there is no specific place in NYC for Christians to meet, as things just happen, or to cite Redeemer's Matthew Buccheri, "relationships have a tendency to develop organically everywhere".
It is evident that Matthew Buccheri's response has no substance. Redeemer's Matthew Buccheri does apparently not want single Christians to connect in Fellowship Groups, and he also has no clue to where Christian singles would/should meet elsewhere.
Therefore, I again ask all other staff at Redeemer Presbyterian Church:
1) Am I allowed to participate in Redeemer's Fellowship Groups?
2) Where specifically do Christian singles meet and develop friendships with other Christian singles in New York City?

I am sorry to inform you that our Fellowship Groups cannot and will not function as a personal dating service [?!]. There are many ways to meet Christian women in NYC. This is NOT one of them.
Thanks for understanding and please respect our request,

Hi!
I am trying to identify Fellowship Groups that I can attend, but the registration program limits my inquiry to one online communication per 24 hrs, which is a slow process. Therefore, I now contact you directly with inquiry to a suggestion.
Beneath is pasted my inquiry intended for the individual Fellowship Groups. Instead of inquiring with the groups one by one, can you please just recommend to me one group for Mondays, one group for Tuesdays, and one group for Wednesdays. Three recommendation please.

Dear Torsten,
I was forwarded your request below and unfortunately, I am unable to fulfill your particular request for recommendations of groups with potential spouses for you.
If you would like to further assistance in connecting with the community at Redeemer, please contact Rev. Matthew Buccheri (matthewpaul@redeemer.com, 917.206.1411) and he would be happy to assist you.

Hi Torsten,
Thank you for your email.
My first suggestion is to connect with the Redeemer Citilights group, see
http://www.redeemercitilights.com/events.htm.
They have events coming up this summer such as this one below that may be of
interest.
citilights Praise & Pizza July 23
Please join us for an evening of acoustic praise and worship. We'll also have
pizza, salad, & drinks for everyone! The event is free. We hope to see you
there! Saturday, July 23 at 7:00PM at the Redeemer Offices, 1359 Broadway, 4th
Floor, Main Conference Room.
Email:
citilights@redeemer.com
Regarding a fellowship group, as we have hundreds of groups that meet in
the Manhattan and the Boroughs, it can be hard to know where to begin.
A few questions for you:
1) What neighborhood do you live and work in?
2) Are there days of the week that work best for your schedule?
I can help you search for a group based on your answers.
Also--you may have already had a chance to view this map below, but you can
enter in criteria such as location, date, type and groups that are open will be
listed. You can then contact the group leader for more details.
Find a Group:
http://www.redeemer.com/connect/fellowship_groups/find_a_group.html
After you've taken a look at the map (linked above),
feel free to contact me again with further questions.
Best
wishes to you,
Jennifer

Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
Hi!
I have read the extensive materials about Redeemer congregational life on the Redeemer website, and there is so much activity that it is difficult to know which group fits best. So instead that I blindly guess at a group, may I please suggest that you instead advise me to a fellowship group or two, based on information about my needs and interests.
What do you advise in regards to fellowship groups at Redeemer based on the above info?
Best regards,
Torsten Nenzen

Hi Torsten –
Thanks for writing. Probably the best way to get connected at Redeemer, in addition to attending a service on Sunday and talking to people after, is to join a Sunday Operations Team (Ushering, Book Table, etc;) and join a Home Fellowship Group. Also, www.Citilights.com is designed for 20-somethings, offering opps for get togethers.
The times and locations of our 5 Sunday services are here: http://www.redeemer.com/sundays/service_info.html
Tim Keller, Head Pastor, leads 4 of the 5 services when in town (he’s out of town this week btw, & will be leaving for 6 weeks of Summer Sabbatical/Study Leave after July 3).
As it says on our site, we do not publish the info on which services Tim will not be preaching at, sorry.
I hope that helps you. Please write back if you need more info, but poke around the website too (www.redeemer.com), there’s a lot there!

Redeemer Church.
I am new to NY and to Manhattan. I am a single Christian. And I am looking for a Christian church to connect with other Christians.
I would like to participate in social events and connective activities for Christians. What are the Christian connective opportunities (schedule of location and time) in your church? Are there ministries and connective opportunities aimed towards Young Adults, College & Career, Sports or Christian Singles ministries?
How can I connect with other Christians in your church?
Best regards,
Torsten
