The MeetUp group "Catholic Socials Perth" apparently does not recognise Catholics as Christians, and the Christian is therefore not permitted to socialise with their group of Catholics. From the Christian’s perspective, however, the Roman Catholic Church is part of the groups of Christian denominations through the Catholic Church’s Trinitarian theology and its recognition of the full divinity of Jesus Christ.

The rejection is not reciprocal by the Christian.
